Summary of Innovation

EZTow, a driverless electric tow tractor, represents a transformative leap in safety and efficiency for manufacturing, particularly outdoors. It is the first of its kind that can operate in complex, outdoor environments and cross indoors, without dedicated infrastructure. This advanced vehicle significantly reduces the risk of accidents and injury with real-time data providing the ability to make split-second decisions accurately. Its cutting-edge autonomous technology adds capacity by allowing it to navigate industrial spaces with precision, minimizing dependency on human operators. It also has an eco-friendly dimension with its Lithium Ion powered electric driveline.

It is already being used by the BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, Daimler Truck AG, and other major automotive manufacturing plants and logistics centers in Europe, Asia and the United States on critical, outdoor flows. It has also served major airports in complex, outdoor environments for baggage and/or cargo towing including the first in the United States, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, as well as Narita International in Japan, Schiphol in the Netherlands, and operates in a fleet at Changi Airport in Singapore. It is the most-deployed driverless tow-tractor globally.

Innovation Statement

The integration of driverless towing into existing flows unlocks smarter, more streamlined manufacturing lines.
It can decrease costs by up to 60%, help increase the speed and efficiency of operations, and reduce incidents on site as the vehicles operate with a high degree of precision.

Applicability

The EZTow is next-level driverless towing, taking on the outdoor yard and managed only by a tablet or existing WMS making it safer, more efficient, capacity-adding and cost-reducing.
