Summary of Innovation

Designed specifically for corporate use, Moonwalkers X are AI-informed robotic shoes that allow individuals to "walk at the speed of a run" — up to a maximum speed of 7mph (3X faster than normal). Moonwalkers X are strapped onto an individual's closed-toe shoes and use artificial intelligence software to monitor and measure the user’s stride, thus enabling the shoes to adjust to the "Gait Cycle" of each individual, thereby maximizing safety, enjoyment, and performance while walking. With 6 wheels instead of 10, improved shock absorption, a fresh new design (with modularity and customization in mind), and a complete overhaul of the control system, Moonwalkers X are significantly lighter, quicker, and smarter than the original model of Moonwalkers which were designed to handle outdoor surfaces.

As such, Moonwalkers X are ideal for business/commercial use, particularly those applications where employees walk a lot on-the-job, such as in the materials handling, distribution, logistics, and warehouse markets where individuals might walk as many as 30,000 steps per day. In fact, one large employer reported that during its rigorous, six-month testing and evaluation period it did not experience a single Moonwalkers-related incident/accident or customer-facing complaint from Moonwalkers use. Best of all, Shift Robotics clients are experiencing "Payback Periods" of under 1 month for each pair of Moonwalkers they deploy.

Innovation Statement

By utilizing Shift Robotics' robotic shoes, initial clients are seeing productivity gains of over 250%, especially for employees with high "Travel Times" due to the amount of on-the-job walking they complete each day. Beneficial outcomes for organizations include significant reductions in daily Travel Times, improved employee satisfaction, and dramatically lowered risks of repetitive employee injuries.

Applicability

Moonwalkers X are designed to dramatically improve productivity for frontline materials handling employees who walk a lot as part of their job responsibilities, as well as for executives and managers who oversee day-to-day operations of large facilities, facilities they need to tour/traverse regularly as part of their roles.
