Next-generation DCs will combine robots with people in ways that are far more fluid and dynamic than traditional automated or manual facilities. As a result, warehouse operators face new challenges in coordinating and optimizing the work of humans and their robotic coworkers. This presentation will provide an overview of the principal tasks and workflows that will combine robots and people, and describe how AI technology can be used to plan, manage, and orchestrate the activities of the hybrid workforce. By simultaneously optimizing people and robots, DCs can achieve their performance goals with fewer robots and fewer labor hours.
1. How does the addition of robots change the ways in which picking and other processes are planned, organized and executed in the DC.
2. How can AI and other advanced executions tools be used to optimize and orchestrate people and robots to support key operational objectives around efficiency, service, throughput, and safety.
