Summary of Innovation
Topper Industrial made a change in their daughter carts design. Topper designed daughter carts that are double staged on the assembly line to maximize floor space. The daughter carts are staged over/under on the assembly line yet are replenished and tugged in Mother Carts individually to the assembly line. The new design to the Daughter Carts is patent pending.
The daughter over cart is an angled raised frame, static cart. The upper cart is tilted at 15 degrees ergonomically for best positioning for the operator. This cart is set up with unique casters. One caster is manually lockable to make them easy to steer when pushing, yet unlocks automatically when inserted in the Mother Cart. The daughter under cart is a static cart. It was manufactured to hold one large container and also, two smaller containers in the same cart base. In this application, two under carts fit beneath one over cart.

The solution was created for a company that needed to utilize space more efficiently along the line. They were able to improve the materials load times two. The daughter cart in this new, patent pending design are staged over/under on the assembly line yet are replenished and tugged in Mother Carts individually to the assembly line.
